| 19/1/2009 | The line up for Celebrity Apprentice has been announced and amongst other celebrities is female poker star Annie Duke.
Duke will be playing for the charity Refugees International as she competes against other celebrities and is judged by Donald Trump on the show. Unlike the usual style of The Apprentice the celebrities will be competing for a $250, 000 cheque for a charity of choice. To complete the challenges set the celebrities will have to demonstrate a good business sense as well as good connections to people with money to donate. Duke is expected to excel on the show after years of experience playing professional poker and winning a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2004 as well as the WSOP Tournament of Champions in the same year.
Duke has also taught novice players in the WSOP Academy including celebrities such as Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ashton Kutcher and Charles Barkley. As well as being a professional poker player Duke also works as a consultant for UltimateBet advising the company on tournament schedules.
Duke is a strong supporter of charity work and has auctioned off her poker lessons to raise funds for numerous charities. Other organization Duke has been involved in have been the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ante Up for Africa and Children’s Hospitals.
Other celebrities in the line up for Celebrity Apprentice are country music singer Clint Black, comedian Andrew Dice Clay, comedian Tom Green, profession golf player Natalie Gulbis, figure skater Scott Hamilton, custom bike builder Jesse James, Deal or No Deal model Claudia Jordan, reality TV star Khloe Karadashian, singer and song writer Brian McKnight, comedienne Joan Rivers and her daughter Melissa River, actress and company owner Brande Roderick, retired NBA player Dennis Rodman, former NFL player Herschel Walker and ex TLC band member Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.
